Just saw it, I thought it was pretty good.
Couple of questions, since I never read the comics.

1. His friends, the dude in the bowling alley, and the priest, and
Midnight, were they in the comics?
2. What was the priests powers?
3. What was the point of the necklace? Why did Constantine tell the
priest not to wear it for a few days?
4. I assume all the people in the nightclub were "half breeds"? Angels,
and demons? (not full demons)
5. What was Midnight's powers?
6. How different from the comics was the movie? Did they add/change
characters, etc?
For instance, I thought Spiderman and Daredevil were both pretty true
to the comics, while X-Men wasnt.
7. If I wanted to get into Constantine a bit more, what comics (trades)
should I focus on?

1 other thing...Angela said she didnt believe in the Devil...but if you
are Catholic and believe in God, then wouldnt you believe in the Devil
too?

The X-Men movies were pretty true to the spirit of the comics, which was why
they were so successful. Catwoman, on the other hand, was certainly not -
and flopped big time.

I think you're in the wrong place.
There must be a Keanu Reeves newsgroup where you can ask these questions.
The Constantine movie has nothing to do with comic books.

The Constantine movie has nothing to do with comic books.
You think wrong.

Constantine is an adaption of Hellblazer, a DC Vertigo title, and thus, it
belongs here.

Learn to use it.
Actually, I didn't think Constantine was that bad. It just didn't have a lot
to do with Hellblazer.

It looked like psychometry, the ability to "read" psychic impressions
left on objects by the people who handled them. But he could actually
receive information from newspaper articles regardless of who touched
them, and Constantine said something about "the ether"...Just a general
sort of Psychic Receiver, then.

The necklace is apparently a Dampener or Limiter of sorts; it kept the
priest from seeing visions, which was all that let him live a halfway
normal life. Constantine told him to take it off because he wanted to
use him as a source of info. Not sure how much protection it would
really have given the police girl, tho...

Of course. In the movie universe, they were the only supernaturals
allowed on Earth. The only full demons we see are, IIRC, the bug demon
and Satan...

For instance, I thought Spiderman and Daredevil were both pretty true
to the comics, while X-Men wasnt.
The main difference, for me, was that they clearly established a set of
Rules for the world to work on. Verticomics do make a big deal about
"rules", sometimes, but they differ from series to series and sometimes
within the same series. But the overall look and feel was pretty
close...

Definitely "Dangerous Habits". I hear "Original Sins" was also one of
the sources of the movie plot. There's a pretty good storyline with
Constantine (who's a blonde Englishman) touring across America, but I
don't know if that's been collected yet. The original Books of Magic
miniseries has some classic Constantine bits in it...

Dex,
wishing for a younger David Bowie to star in a "Lucifer" film...^^
